Nahant to get peek at revamped Howe Mansion

NAHANT — The Nahant Historical Society (NHS) is inviting community members to attend a public unveiling of the revamped Howe Mansion on Little Nahant Road on Wednesday from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Originally constructed in 1880, the house underwent extensive renovations, which included work on both the exterior and interior. The efforts to revitalize the estate were spearheaded by Ricky Beliveau, the managing partner and chief financial officer of V10 Development, who first purchased the property at an auction in 2023.

“We’re really excited. It’s been a long two years, and we’re opening it up to the community to give them the first viewing of the mansion,” Beliveau said. “They’ve been so supportive.”

He added that his development team did a great job bringing the mansion into modern times while “keeping the historic charm of the home.”

“We were able to do a great job with the combination of bringing the home into today’s type of living environment while also keeping its historic charm,” he said.

NHS member Susanne Macarelli, who has been working with Beliveau to document the restoration process, shared her excitement for the upcoming unveiling.

“As stewards of our history, we record the stories and photos of the events that built our lives. We mustn’t neglect the structures where so many of these stories began,” Macarelli said. “All too often, buyers see an old structure and knock it down to replace it with something new.”

She continued, saying that Beliveau was committed to “meticulously preserving this iconic and magnificent 1880 home in the hopes that it can be enjoyed by future generations.”

“We are deeply grateful to Mr. Beliveau and other owners of historic homes in Nahant who have chosen to restore rather than replace,” she said.
