Both the Marblehead and Swampscott golf teams play home matches at Tedesco Country Club, but Thursday, traditional archrivals collided for annual bragging rights. In a 39-33 final, the Tedesco Cup stayed put with Marblehead for the fourth consecutive year.
Marblehead finished the regular season with an 11-2-2 record, while Swampscott settled for 5-9.
Winning Magicians were Colby Moore (medalist 36), Greyson Leventhal (38), Will Macrina (39), and Dylan Whitman. Bowden Laramie (39) also played well.
Shooting well for the Big Blue were Tyler Ostroff (36), Sam Baron (38), Luke McGonagle (38), Paul Casimitto (39), and Sam Schepens (40).

Classical ran into Greater Boston League trouble in Somerville, despite a goal from Mia Duncan. Lady Rams’ coach Jessica Gambale credited the defensive play of senior captains McKenna Duncan and Dulce Juarez, as well as Tatiana De Leon, Jolisa Lopez, and Eileen Portillo Toledo.

Kaylee Barrett did a little bit of everything as Lynnfield (10-2) escaped Essex Tech on enemy turf. The star Pioneer scored a goal and dished out a pair of assists.
“She’s just a very dynamic player – very skilled with a high soccer IQ. I’m very fortunate to coach her,” said Lynnfield coach Mark Vermont. “We have her, Giada (Antidormi), and Ava Damiani. The three of them are putting some points on the board.”
Hannah Ozanian set the tone with a goal in the fourth minute. Sofia Giardina and Barrett added second-half strikes.
“It was a battle,” Vermont said. “Essex Tech is very organized and made it hard for us – they’re never an easy team to beat.”
According to Vermont, the “biggest game of the year” is at home Tuesday against North Reading beginning at 6 p.m.

Arlington squeezed out of Peabody with a one-goal win. Tanners’ coach Andrew Douglass said Emma Wardle, Gabby Meola, Marley Loring, Grace Sylvester, and Ava Barresi “played great games defensively.” Offensive chances came from Cara Corriveau, Brielle Broughton, and Maggie Jolin.
