With its 12th win in the Greater Boston League, Lynn Classical’s volleyball team (15-2) clinched at least a share of the GBL title after defeating Chelsea in three sets (25-13, 25-22, 25-6) Wednesday evening.
Seniors Brooke Braswell (9 kills, 2 aces, 12 digs) and Emma Chevalier (18 assists, 2 kills, 7 aces, 5 digs), as well as freshman Karen Diaz (7 kills, 3 digs) led the Lady Rams.
Coach Chris LeBlanc praised his younger players in addition to Braswell and Chevalier.
“It was nice to see some of our younger players step up tonight. Karen was excellent on the outside and Melisa Iriskic had a great night passing the volleyball,” LeBlanc said. “We’ve come to expect great things from Brooke and Emma – and they always deliver. I’d argue that Brooke is having one of the best seasons on the North Shore in recent memory.”
