SAUGUS — Families got a taste of fall fun Friday afternoon at Blessed Sacrament Church as WIN Waste sponsored a Fall Fun Fest. Over 200 people attended the event.
Any donations made during the event would go directly to supporting the Boys and Girls Club, and WIN Waste matched the community donation. At the end of the night $1,000 was raised.
Senior director of communications and community, Mary Urban, said that WIN has had a long-term partnership with the Boys and Girls Club.
“This is a way to give back to the community and have a fun event for the kids. We asked for a small donation, whatever anybody can do, for the Boys and Girls Club, so that we can celebrate each other and also bring the kids together for a great fall event,” Urban said.
She continued that with so much division everywhere, it was nice to see everybody come together.
Kids got to walk through lines of pumpkins to find the perfect one to paint. Tables were filled with paints as kids used their imaginations to bring their pumpkins to life. Some sat in the grass, and others put their pumpkins on chairs, creating their own little work stations for the evening.
Pizza and drinks were also included at the event along with a DJ and a bouncy house, which filled up quickly.
