Benjamin Tapia Gately, 20, was traveling north on I-93 when a New Hampshire State Trooper attempted to pull him over Sunday night. Gately sped off, starting a pursuit.
Gately, who was driving a Honda Civic, allegedly drove erratically during the pursuit and hit speeds over 120 mph.
The chase, which started near Exit 12 in Concord, ended north near Exit 18 in Canterbury. New Hampshire State Police said Gately attempted to take the off-ramp but lost control of the vehicle.
Gately drove off the road, through the northbound ramp, and down an embankment. The car crashed into a tree, and Gately was ejected from the vehicle.
Life-saving measures were performed, but Gately was pronounced dead on the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
