Lynnfield plans for 250 Celebration

LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield 250 Celebration Committee had its first meeting to begin planning next year’s event.

Town Administrator Rob Dolan tapped Co-Chair Joe Connell to help lead the Committee. They also brought on Kirk Mansfield, who is just “the right guy” and “very talented,” according to Connell.

With Mansfield’s help and great knowledge of the community, “the rest of the team was put together to help out to do this. They’re all just remarkable people,” Connell said.

Connell said the aim was to put together a cross section of different town committees “to make sure we’re hitting all things.” He added that the Committee’s goal is to put together a celebration that hits home for all age groups.

According to Connell, the majority of what’s left to do is “really just assigning out who’s the site lead, who’s going to who’s going to manage that particular event, and then to make sure that we have things paid for.”

Other events will be added, such as a pie eating contest that was organized for the celebration after the Committee’s first meeting on Oct. 15.

While there are two vision statements, both outline a desire to represent the Founder’s vision of civic engagement and to celebrate the sacrifices made and achievements earned during those triumphant years. Unity as a community is a clear focus.

The 250 Celebration will be funded through a combination of community donations, Town funding, and entry fees to certain contests and events over the celebration weekend.

The Lynnfield 250 Celebration will happen from Friday, June 19, 2026 through Sunday, June 21, 2026. Events are still being lined up, and event timing is being organized and decided on.
