St. John’s Prep picked up a 2-0 win over La Salle Academy on Thursday evening. The Eagles traveled to Providence, and the match came down to the final few minutes.
James Minor scored the game-winner on a free kick — his third free-kick goal of the season — before Garrison Murphy added an insurance goal five minutes later off an assist from Mike Hutchinson.
In net, Matt Droggitis made six saves to earn his 11th shutout of the season.

Swampscott’s offense couldn’t break through the Chieftains’ defense. Masconomet proved too much for the visiting Big Blue, scoring twice and keeping the shutout.

Northeast Metro 1
Lynn Tech welcomed Northeast Metro to Manning Field, but it was the Tigers who protected home turf with a convincing 3-1 win.
The Tigers closed the regular season with a victory and will now await their postseason seeding.

With the road victory, the Pioneers secured at least a share of the Cape Ann League title.
Giada Antidormi did it all for Lynnfield, scoring two goals and adding two assists.
Bella Sykes also scored twice and had an assist, while teammate Kaylee Barrett found the back of the net.
Adriana Regitano had an “excellent game” in defense, according to head coach Mark Vermont.

The Magicians ended the regular season with a hard-fought draw against the Crusaders.
Carolyn Black opened the scoring for Marblehead in the third quarter, and Chloe Rowland — off a Zoe Dwyer assist — added the Magicians’ second in the fourth.
Elizabeth Hayes made seven saves in net.
“This was a fun one and an absolute team effort from beginning to end,” Magicians head coach Alison Carey said. “I am so proud of the way the team played tonight. It’s been quite a season.”

Everything clicked for Saugus on Senior Night as the Sachems rolled past Northeast Metro.
It was Saugus’ second win in a row, and the team will close the regular season Friday at Malden at 4:30 p.m.

Swampscott 1
Marblehead (16-2) went into its traditional rival’s gym and came away with a 3-1 win to capture the Northeastern Conference title.
The Magicians went undefeated (12-0) in NEC play after defeating Swampscott 25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 27-25.
Erin Wilder had a team-high 26 assists, while Mari Modrzynska did a bit of everything with 12 kills and 11 digs.
Greta Sachs tallied eight kills and six blocks, and Sydney Faris had 28 digs on defense.
For Swampscott Dana Bereznyakov had three aces, seven assists and 11 digs, while Marta Sirota (23 digs, 2 aces), Hayden Haskell (3 aces, 11 digs), and Reese Schaiberger (4 aces, 6 kills, 8 digs, 12 assists) led the Big Blue.

The Tigers (15-3) cruised to victory against visitors Innovation. Lynn Tech swept Innovation 3-0 with set scores of 25-7, 25-6, and 25-16.
Zahara Belizaire had 17 aces, 12 assists, four digs and a kill. Lia Morales had seven kills and two digs, while teammate Joslyn Wise had three kills to fuel Lynn Tech.

The Tanners earned a Northeastern Conference road win over the Vikings on Thursday evening, dropping just one set to improve to 13-7.
Saugus 3

Needing a win to qualify for the postseason, Saugus got it with a 3-0 sweep of Lynn English.
The victory marked the Sachems’ 10th win of the season, securing a postseason berth.
Lynn English will wrap up the regular season Friday at Medford at 5:30 p.m.
CROSS COUNTRY
St. Mary’s
The St. Mary’s Spartans finished third at the Catholic Central League (CCL) Championships.
Kelsey Kwiatek ran an 18:33 to take first place and was also named the league’s regular-season MVP.
Nina Lopes and Mia Tatis also turned in strong performances to help secure third place for the Spartans.
The boys’ team also finished third, led by Cristian Rodriguez and Kevin Cahill, who placed eighth and ninth, respectively.
Bishop Fenwick
The Lady Crusaders took second place with 51 points.
Adelaide Sweatman (3rd), Marianna Kay (5th) and Olivia Rowe (12th) all set season-best times and were named to the CCL All-Star team.
Julia Davis (15th) and Caroline Blatchford (23rd) also earned points for Fenwick.
On the boys’ side, Fenwick placed fourth with 117 points.
Captain Sam Appleyard finished seventh to lead the Crusaders, while Deven Dion placed 21st — the second freshman to cross the line — and John Reilly finished 24th.
