Swampscott’s Micah Hashikawa, of St. Mary’s, shot a 79 (40 front, 39 back) in Tuesday’s MIAA Division 2 state championship, which was played at Taconic Country Club in Williamstown. He tied for 12th out of 105 competitors.
“Thanks to Coach (Jay) Fiste, Mr. (Jeff) Newhall, Stephen Ventre, and my family for all the support over the years,” Hashikawa stated on X. “A great way to conclude my varsity golf career.”
Hashikawa was also named a Catholic Central League All-Star Tuesday, alongside teammates Bobby MacAulay and Stephen Nason.
MacAulay was the league’s individual champion, while the Most Valuable Player award went to Bishop Feehan’s Mackinley Garcia. Bishop Fenwick’s Vincent Finocchio was named an All-Star.

Peabody, 3-0-1 through its last four games, took down host North Andover by a goal Tuesday. Marques Pirrotta scored the game-winning goal, while Diego Lemus also potted one. Dishing out assists were Jayden Lopez and Jason Decost, while Marc Smith, Jon Ward, and Arthur Rocha played well, according to coach Stan McKeen. His Tanners wrap up their regular season Thursday against Xaverian Brothers.
