‘We’re not going anywhere’: Sin Kid’s Final Chapter signals new beginnings

LYNN — “SINKID: FINAL CHAPTER is basically about closing a book and dropping a new one soon,” Sinkid IB said. “A new lifestyle, a new set of clothes, a new change… It’s the whole brand.”

Back in April, fashion brand Sin Kid would have their ribbon cutting celebration for their Incubator Pop-Up Shop through North Shore CDC’s Small Business Program which provides funding, mentorship, and space for emerging entrepreneurs. For six months, the group — made up of the members Big Body, Dee Dame, Sinkid IB, and Asian Goblin — would sell their clothing, which merges the appeal of high-end fashion with the laid-back, contemporary vibe of streetwear.

“You expect it to be bustling and hustling all day, but there’s time when it’s peaceful, and there’s times when it’s chaotic,” Big Body said. “So that mixture of both taught me a lot.”

As October wraps up, Sin Kid’s time at the shop is also coming to an end which they described as “surreal” and a “major learning opportunity.” They’re hosting a farewell event, SINKID: FINAL CHAPTER, at 104 Lafayette St., Salem, kicking off at 5 p.m. on November 1st. The milestone marks both the end of their first in-person retail experience and the start of a new creative phase for the brand.

“I think online is easier. Trying to get people in the store is kind of hard,” Dee Dame said. “With a store, you really have to build a community around you.”

The event will feature food, drinks, music, good vibes, and the debut of their new “Combat Collection,” which includes a limited-edition long sleeve, jacket, and a zip-up pink hoodie. You can RSVP to the event to get 10% off your purchase.

“We’re not going anywhere … this is just the start of a new chapter,” they said. “Thank you to everyone that has supported us.”

You can also stay up to date with the brand on their Instagram (@_sinkid). Or if you want to shop the brand, the best spot is on their official website (shopsinkid.com), which will ship anywhere you need. There, you can shop their latest collections and some past drops, see current sales, and contact them.
