LYNN — The 11th annual Festival of Trees hosted by the Lynn Tech Alumni Association will be taking place at the Lynn Tech Tigers Den to kick off the Christmas season.

The festival of trees will take place from Sunday, Nov. 16- Satuday, Nov. 22. Viewing hours will be from 12-6 p.m. on Sunday and Saturday, 4-7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 4-8 p.m. Wednesday-Friday. Admission is $5.

Community members have donated trees and decorated them with various gifts; and each tree will be raffled off for collection on Nov. 23 from 12-3 p.m. Raffles cost $5 for 25 tickets, and funds go to the Lynn Tech Alumni Association for scholarship funds, tools, and athletic equipment for students.

“This is the event that gives them tools for their dreams. It’s fun, but it’s also a fundraiser,” said Judith Josephs, Alumni Association Board member and former Lynn Tech school counselor and co-op director.

“It’s a very enjoyable, entertaining time for the community,” she added. “People who buy raffle tickets often come back for more.”

The artificial trees come with “anything that the decorator considers to be a present,” with the exception of certain food perishable items.

“Each person has their own idea. This particular group is leaning toward the artistic and the unusual. It’s filled with incredible creativity,” Josephs said.

The event will also come with live music, refreshments available for purchase, and a visit from Santa and Buddy the Elf for the children.

“We have an enormous community interest in the start of the Christmas season. The spirit of Christmas comes with this festival of trees for our North Shore area,” Josephs said.

Those interested in donating a decorated tree or wreath should reach out to Lynn Tech Alumni Association board of directors member Diana Badger at [email protected] or (978) 815-2478.

The Lynn Tech Tigers Den is located at 90 Commercial St.
