LYNN — Lynn Community Health Center (LCHC) is honored to be named one of the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts by The Women’s Edge in partnership with The Boston Globe. This is the health center’s first year receiving this distinction, which coincides with the program’s 25th anniversary and underscores the vital role of women-led leadership in the state’s economic and social landscape.
Under the leadership of CEO Brenda Rodriguez, LCHC has solidified its reputation as a force for innovation and equity in community health.
Rodriguez brings more than a decade of experience in community health centers, having previously served as Chief Strategy and Financial Officer at Lowell Community Health Center, where she spearheaded growth strategies and embedded equitable care practices. Earlier in her career, she led financial and operations functions in education and media organizations, and began her professional journey at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
What makes her leadership especially resonant is her personal connection to community health care: Rodriguez is a patient at a federally qualified health center, giving her lived insight into the challenges patients face. With her at the helm, LCHC has expanded access to critical services, deepened community partnerships, and made prudent investments in financial and clinical sustainability.
“Receiving this recognition alongside so many trailblazing women is truly meaningful,” said Rodriguez. “This belongs to every woman who leads, innovates, and uplifts our mission across the community health center movement. It is an honor to see our work celebrated among organizations and businesses that are redefining the leadership landscape in Massachusetts.”
“Brenda embodies the spirit and ambition of LCHC’s mission and values,” said Lynn Community Health Center’s Board Chair Drew Russo. “Her lived experience, business acumen, and unwavering commitment to community-centered care give us great confidence in the path ahead. This recognition reflects not just her leadership, but the extraordinary dedication of our entire team.”
LCHC serves more than 46,000 patients annually, offering a full spectrum of care—from primary care, behavioral health, dental, substance use services, to school-based and mobile health programs— regardless of a person’s ability to pay. With a workforce that is predominantly women and highly diverse at all levels, LCHC models inclusive leadership and community-rooted excellence.
Ranked #38 in its inaugural year on the list, Lynn Community Health Center joins a distinguished roster of organizations shaping the future of Massachusetts through purpose, innovation, and inclusive leadership.
