November 3, 2025 by Mark Aboyoun

The No. 32 KIPP boys soccer team defeated No. 33 Old Colony Tech 5-1 Monday afternoon at Manning Field to advance to the Round of 32.

KIPP’s Jossue Giron recorded a hat trick to bring his season total to 22 goals. Giron also added to his strong playmaking numbers, with 16 assists on the season.

Juan Ospina scored what KIPP head coach Josh Canales called a “screamer” of a goal, while Jonathan Morales also found the back of the net.

The Panthers will travel to No. 1 Boston International on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

BOYS SOCCER

No. 24 Lexington 3

No. 41 Lynn English 0

Despite a strong first half, the Bulldogs couldn’t find the net against No. 24 Lexington in Monday’s preliminary round.

Lynn English head coach Valdrim Xhemajli highlighted Erick Zepeda, who was “all over the field,” and Jamel David, who “didn’t stop running all game and gave full effort,” as standouts.

I want to thank my coaches, captains and seniors who fought hard all season to make it into the tournament,” Xhemajli said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to coach and learn from these players throughout their high school careers.”

Lynn English finished the season with a 7-5-5 record.

No. 29 Auburn 3

No. 36 Bishop Fenwick 0

The Crusaders couldn’t pull off the road upset against a talented Auburn team. Bishop Fenwick ended the season with a 7-8-4 record.

No. 30 Marlborough 4

No. 35 Winthrop 3

Winthrop put up a fight but couldn’t complete the comeback against Marlborough.

The Vikings trailed 3-0 at halftime before rallying in the second half. Fabiano Rodrigues scored once and Kerim Kurdu netted two goals, but the effort fell just short.

Unfortunately for the Vikings their postseason run is over.

GIRLS SOCCER

No. 22 Frontier Regional 8

No. 43. Lynn Tech 2

Although it wasn’t the result the Tigers were hoping for, it capped a memorable season for Lynn Tech.

The Tigers finished 10-9, reaching the postseason for the first time in program history.

FIELD HOCKEY

No. 8 Scituate 3

No. 9 St. Mary’s 0

The best season in St. Mary’s field hockey history came to an end Monday with a loss to Scituate.

The Spartans finished with an 18-1-1 record.
