To the editor:
Northeast Arc thanks the sponsors, attendees, volunteers, and many others involved in making the 56th annual Mike Frangos Commodore Invitational Golf Tournament a big success. Our Oct. 28 event raised nearly $200,000 to help the Northeast Arc support children and adults with disabilities and autism and their families.
The oldest continuous charity golf tournament in the country, held at Myopia Hunt Club in South Hamilton, would not have been so successful without the support of the tournament’s presenting sponsor HUB International or the leadership provided by Charles Brophy, president and CEO of HUB International New England, and Jim Palleschi, the company’s senior vice president. Northeast Arc awarded the second annual Trip Hargrave Winner’s Cup, named in honor of Trip Hargrave, the tournament’s long-time host, to the winning foursome from Infillion.
Major sponsors included Atlantic Charter Insurance, the McCarthy Family Foundation, PLAN of Massachusetts & Rhode Island, and Karen and David Woonton.
Thank you to Caroline Armington, who was interviewed during the dinner by Kim Carrigan of Carrigan & Company to share how her family has benefited from Northeast Arc’s Early Intervention Program.
Finally, congratulations to Paul Kurker, a senior VP and team leader at Eastern Bank, who was recognized with the Mike Frangos award for his 30-year commitment to the tournament and Northeast Arc. Kurker was presented with a painting by artist Meghan Scire, who participates in Northeast Arc’s Steps to Create program by members of the Frangos family.
Sincerely,
Dianne Powers
