To the editor:
Two-thousand-one-hundred-and-twelve people were walking on air last Friday morning after they witnessed the legendary Diana Ross musical performance at Lynn Auditorium on Oct. 30.
What a night! The pre-show video packed with images scanning her career was worth the price of admission.
The sound was outstanding, the lights were Sphere-esque, the crowd enthusiastic, polite, and energized.
The volunteers scanning our tickets and taking us to our seats were just as polite as the security that gently escorted those back to their seats after adrenaline levitated them up to the stage to grab a photo.
Take a bow for the presentation and the upkeep of that historic building built in1948. Let it be noted that the old-school way of purchasing tickets in person, with only a $3 service fee, was a gift and had a fair trade quality we need more of. The Federal Trade Commission had to intervene against the big ticket seller cooperations to ban the deceptive practices of adding and hiding fees. Thank you to promoter Henry Ryan and the Lynn Office of Community Development for standing on the shoulders of the participants of the Boston Tea Party to make this an affordable event for the 2,100 plus. We knew where the real party was! I’m sure Miss Ross did, too.
Sincerely,
Jana Moalli
Lynn
