SAUGUS — The Saugus Firefighters Relief Association is rolling out a brand-new patch for purchase, with proceeds supporting the remembrance of the town’s firefighters who have died.

The patch also features a tribute to Kowloon Restaurant in honor of its 75th anniversary. Saugus Firefighters Local 1003 noted that Kowloon and the Wong Family have always supported the community and public safety.

“In an effort to celebrate the 75 years of dedication to our town, we designed a commemorative patch showcasing some of the memorable Kowloon features,” they said.

The money is specifically going toward enhancing the Firefighters Memorial at Riverside Cemetery, which honors those who have died, including some who have sacrificed their own lives in the line of duty, according to the association.

The funds will help enhance the plot, where the memorial stone is “sadly in need of an addition to properly memorialize the firefighters who continue to pass each year,” they said

An embroidered patch is $10, a 4-inch window decal is $5, and a 2-inch helmet decal is $3.

Donations can be made to SFRA – Cemetery Fund, 27 Hamilton St., Saugus, MA 01906. If you would like more options on how to donate or to make a purchase, you can email [email protected].

The Saugus Firefighters Relief Association provides death, disability, or sick benefits to its members and promotes awareness of public safety issues and support of worthy causes in the community.
