SAUGUS — The two persons of interest in the Square One Mall assault that occurred on Nov. 24 have been identified; however, due to the fact that they are minors, their names will not be released.
A call came into the station at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 with a woman reporting she and three minor children were assaulted while in the Square One parking lot.
The two individuals were inside the woman’s car, and when she went to confront them, one of the individuals brandished a knife, while the other punched an 11-year-old victim. The two then fled the area.
The woman entered her car and drove to a safe area before placing her call to police.
Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli had asked that the public notify the department with any information on the suspects, releasing a CCTV photo of who they believed to be the two individuals.
A spokesperson for the Saugus Police Department noted that the department wants to thank everyone for their help, saying, “Due to the overwhelming response from the public, detectives were quickly able to pinpoint their suspects.”
