LYNN — The City celebrated the holiday season in downtown Lynn with a tree and menorah lighting festival at Central Square on Monday.
The festival of lights was organized by the Greater Lynn Chamber of Commerce, with help from Lynn Main Streets. Activities included song and dance performances from the Boys & Girls Club of Lynn, Cultura Latina Dance Academy Inc., St. Mary’s Lynn Chorus, and the Lynn Public Schools All-City Band.
Participants also got the chance to decorate ornaments with Raw Art Works to hang on the tree and enjoyed complimentary hot cocoa from The Salvation Army.
The event concluded with Mayor Jared Nicholson giving a speech; he then lighted a tree and menorah with his sons Henry and Benjamin. They were joined by Lynn residents Tara and Tessa Aguilar, plus Santa and an elf.
Sponsors included Cataldo Ambulance Service, Columbia Insurance Agency, Delulis Brothers Construction, Ebenezer Tax and Services, Eliot Community Human Services, Flag Pharmacy, Home Care with Grace, King Movers and Storage, Kowloon, One Protection Security, Reading Cooperative Bank, Rick’s Auto Collision and Service Center, River Works Credit Union, St. Jean’s Credit Union, and Wayne Alarm.
