A friend’s Christmas wish

Jackie Manno

December 9, 2025 by Jackie Manno

The holiday season is for giving, and one selfless person in need who wrote to Item Santa this year wants to give back to their loved ones.
The writer’s considerate nature was clear from the very first sentence of their letter. They politely greeted Santa and wished him the best.

“Hello, it’s a great pleasure to greet you, dear Santa. I hope you’re doing well,” they wrote.

They then explained why they decided to reach out. They want to give their friends a memorable Christmas by giving them a gift, but they currently do not have enough resources to do so. That’s where Item Santa comes in.

“The reason for my letter is to ask for your help. I would like to give my friends a gift, but I can’t do it alone, and I would like them to have a wonderful Christmas. I know that with your help, they will be able to,” they wrote.

They concluded their letter by sincerely expressing their gratitude for everything Santa does.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And I always wish you the best,” they wrote.

A contribution to Item Santa can help ensure that this thoughtful person — and many others like them — have something to anticipate this holiday season. Every donation counts when it comes to making a meaningful impact at a time where so many families are struggling to make ends meet.

Now in its 59th year, the Item Santa Fund continues to brighten Christmas for local residents who need support the most.

To give, please clip the coupon in The Daily Item and send it with your check to:
