Allison Morales, a junior guard, exploded for 29 points, 12 rebounds, and six steals as Lynn Tech’s girls basketball team (2-0) defended home court 42-21 against Academy of Notre Dame (Tyngsborough). Helping the Tigers’ cause were Juliana Gerardo (5 points, 5 rebounds), Mahlyna Williams (6 rebounds, 5 steals, 2 points, 2 assists), Jaylianniez Beauchamp (4 points, 4 steals, 3 rebounds), and Elena Bishop (6 rebounds, 4 steals).

A versatile offense and “great defense” in the second half, according to Classical coach Marvin Avery, led the Rams (2-0) to their second win. Leading the charge were Deshawn Rucker (16 points), DJ Reynolds (14), Shyheim Babb (14), and Davon Rucker (14).

Despite strong showings from Ryan Shea (15 points), Jordan Rodriguez (9), and Huey Josama (9), the Sachems dropped to 1-3. Marblehead (3-1) was led by Finn Baron’s 26 points, 17 of which were scored in the second half. Cameron Weaver poured in another 14.

Peabody traveled to Swampscott Thursday and won nine of 10 events. Better yet, the Tanners finished first and second across seven of them. Winning their respective events were Ayanna Cirame (high jump), Madison Holleran (shot put), Jocelyn Ridley (hurdles), MacKenzie Miller (55m), Avani Ingham, Lauren Foley (1,000m), and Ella Braz. The mile relay was won by Braz, Foley, Avery Marcus, and Maya Sutton.
