LYNN — On a chilly evening filled with the magic of the season, warmth and joy poured into St. George Greek Orthodox Church as more than 400 Boys & Girls Club of Lynn members gathered for a holiday celebration they won’t soon forget.
Laughter echoed through the hall as each child sat down to enjoy a festive meal, their faces glowing with excitement and anticipation. Then came the moment they had been waiting for: one by one, every child had the chance to choose a Christmas gift of their own. For many, it was more than just a present — it was a moment of being seen, celebrated, and cared for.
This joyful day was made possible by the generosity of community partners whose hearts were as big as the season itself, including the Nahant Police Department, DiVirgilio Homes REMAX, Rick Rostoff, Dexion, the Lynn Police Department, JR & Tara Raymond, and the Municipal Police Training Committee. Their kindness transformed the room into a place of wonder.
Adding to the sparkle, Rockland Trust rewarded the creativity of young artists by presenting prizes to the winners of a holiday card contest, reminding everyone that imagination and joy go hand in hand.
In one corner, smiles grew even brighter as club members posed for photos with Superintendent of Schools Molly Cohen and Mayor Jared Nicholson — a picture of a community coming together. And in another unforgettable moment, Lily Florentino beamed with pure happiness as she admired her brand-new bicycle, a dream gift and a symbol of the joy shared that day.
It was a celebration stitched together by generosity, community spirit, and the simple magic of giving — proof that the holidays shine brightest when everyone comes together.
