Bishop Fenwick captured the Sue Rivard Tournament championship with a one-point win over Walpole. Senior captains Celia Neilson and Caitlin Boyle led the Crusaders.
Neilson was named tournament MVP after recording nine points, seven assists, seven rebounds and 10 steals. Boyle finished with 22 points and eight rebounds and earned All-Tournament honors.
Despite the accolades, head coach Adam DeBaggis credited senior Brittney Figulski and junior Reese Spurchise for their defensive efforts. With four seconds remaining and Bishop Fenwick clinging to a one-point lead, Figulski sealed the victory with a game-winning steal.
Bishop Fenwick remains unbeaten at 4-0 and will travel to Tewksbury on Friday for a 4:30 p.m. tip-off.

St. Mary’s (5-0) was crowned Murphy Tournament champion on Monday. Sysy Emmanuel scored 21 points and was named tournament MVP.
McKenna O’Connell added 10 points, while Charleigh Green scored seven. Jaylin Frye and Janae Holmes chipped in six points apiece.

The Big Blue defeated Essex Tech in a close matchup on Monday. Swampscott will compete for the Danvers Basketball Holiday Tournament championship on Tuesday when it takes on Hamilton-Wenham at noon.

In a back-and-forth game, the Sachems came up short in the holiday tournament game at Reading Memorial. Saugus will look to bounce back on Friday when it travels to Wilmington for a 7 p.m. tip-off.

In the David Green Tournament in Winthrop, the Pioneers took care of Stoneham in a closely battled match.
Lynnfield was down 27-35 late in the third quarter before going on a run to cut the deficit to two points going into the fourth quarter.
The Pioneers took the lead on a three from Olivia Braley and Lynnfield didn’t look back.
Hayden Valiton led the Pioneers with 21 points, eight rebounds, and three steals while teammate Chloe Grieves registered her third double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.
The Pioneers will take on host Winthrop on Tuesday at noon for a chance of winning the championship.

Peabody dropped its opening-round game of the Waltham Christmas Tournament. Olivia Gaynor led the Tanners with 13 points. Aliana Ryan and Avery Bettencourt also played well, according to head coach Stan McKeen.
Peabody will face Arlington in the consolation game Tuesday.

Mystic Valley 28
Swampscott (4-0) remained unbeaten with a decisive win over Mystic Valley in the opening round of the Big Blue Holiday Tournament.
Teddy O’Neill led the way with 21 points, while Connor Chiarello added 17 and Dean Collins finished with 16.
Swampscott will face Hamilton-Wenham in the championship game Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

St. Mary’s (3-2) earned a win over Bishop Feehan in the consolation game of the Bill Hanson Holiday Tournament.
Colton Carpenter scored twice and Aiden St. Pierre added a goal. Caleb Racki had two assists, while Finn Racki and Zach Guelpa each recorded one assist. The Spartans outshot the Shamrocks 46-19.

Bishop Fenwick struck early and never looked back. Defenseman Noah Hammond opened the scoring with a slap shot in the first period.
Chris Ferlito capitalized on a loose puck in front during the second period to make it 2-0. David Perez added an insurance goal before Nashoba Valley scored late.
The Crusaders advance to the BankGloucester Holiday Tournament championship game, where they will face Groton-Dunstable on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

It was another win for the Spartans who improved to 3-0 on the season with a road win over Pope Francis. Alyssa Norden bagged a hat trick to lead St. Mary’s.
