Sometimes, schedules just line up for a can’t-miss game.
With wins Friday evening, the Bishop Fenwick (5-0) and St. Mary’s (7-0) girls basketball teams remained undefeated ahead of next Wednesday’s meeting between the Catholic Central League foes. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m. in Peabody.
The dynamic duo did it again as Caitlin Boyle (18 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists) and Celia Neilson (11 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists) led visiting Fenwick against Tewksbury Memorial in a 45-34 final.
The Crusaders — helmed once again by coach Adam DeBaggis — led by just two points, 22-20, at halftime before a 17-5 third-quarter run.
As for St. Mary’s, coach Jeff Newhall and company took down Archbishop Williams 67-55 inside of the Tony C. Gymnasium in Lynn. Sysy Emmanuel (22 points), Charleigh Green (22), and Janae Holmes (15) did most of the damage.

In a back-and-forth game at Lynn Tech, the hosts dropped a tight one. The Tigers fell to 1-2 (wins against Ipswich and Academy of Notre Dame), while Malden upped its record to 4-2.

Lynn Tech (3-2) cruised on home hardwood and crossed the .500 mark. Leading the Tigers were Brandon Antwine (20 points, 4 steals, 5 rebounds), Andy Batista (15 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds), and Keith Chandler (12 points, 3 steals).
TRACK AND FIELD
The Lynn English boys and girls took part in a Greater Boston League meet. Ian De La Rosa won the 800m (2:09.63) and Peter Akande took second in the 55m (6.95). The girls 4x200m relay team of Ciana Mendes, Precious Jonathan, Delyanna Assade, and Danielle Martinez finished second with a time of 2:04.77.
