LYNN, REVERE REPORT DOUBLE-DIGIT SURGE IN VIRUS CASES
Another double-digit surge in new coronavirus cases was reported in Lynn and Revere on Friday.
And an additional death was reported in Peabody to bring the city’s death toll to 188.
In Lynn, 22 new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 5,193. Of that total, 302 cases are active, 119 people have died, and 3,772 have recovered, according to city data.
Revere reported 20 new cases to bring the city’s total numbers to 2,945 cases and 106 deaths, according to the city website.
With four new cases reported since Wednesday, Peabody’s caseload is now 1,366, but 1,023 people have recovered, according to the health department.
Numbers remained the same in Lynnfield (161 cases, 14 deaths) and Nahant (52 cases, six deaths) on Friday and were not updated in Marblehead, Saugus or Swampscott.
As of Thursday, Swampscott had 176 cases and 11 deaths, Saugus had 766 cases and 42 deaths and numbers in Marblehead (286 cases, 30 deaths) have not been updated since Wednesday.
