NEW VIRUS CASES REPORTED IN LYNN, LYNNFIELD, PEABODY, REVERE, AND SALEM

New coronavirus cases were reported Wednesday in Lynn, Lynnfield, Peabody, Revere, and Salem.

In Lynn, 40 new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 16,773. Of that total, 363 cases are active, 209 people have died, and 16,201 have recovered from the virus, according to city data.

Twenty-five new cases were reported in Revere to bring the city’s total numbers to 10,322 cases and 161 deaths, the city website reported.

In Peabody, 41 new cases have been reported since Monday. The city now has 6,806 cases, 313 people have died, and 5,986 have recovered, the health department said.

Salem has reported 27 new cases since Monday, which brings the city’s total number of cases to 4,425. Eighty people have died, according to the city website.

Lynnfield (1,149 cases, 29 deaths) reported five new cases, Nahant (246 cases, eight deaths) reported no change in its statistics, and numbers were not updated in Marblehead, Saugus or Swampscott.

As of Monday, Saugus had 3,930 cases and 71 deaths, Swampscott had 1,085 cases and 19 deaths, and numbers have not been updated in Marblehead (1,252 cases, 31 deaths) since last Friday.
