MARBLEHEADRawArt Works opens a thought-provoking exhibit Sunday at Abbot Public Library in Marblehead, entitled ‘Check The Label.’The exhibit, in the library’s Virginia Carten Gallery, features work by young Lynn-area artists who, through their art using fabric, pastel and compressed paper, respond to questions, ‘What label do I wear?’, ‘What label do I most dread wearing?’ and ‘How do I want to be seen?’Artists were asked to imagine if they had to walk into school, the workplace or place of worship wearing a T-shirt displaying one word with which they would be most proud to be identified on the front, and one word with which they most fear being labeled on the back. There will be an opening reception at Abbot Library, 235 Pleasant St., on Sunday from 2-4 p.m., to which the public is invited to meet the artists. The exhibit will run through Oct. 31.
