LYNN – The case of two sisters allegedly involved in an altercation at Lynn English High School in January has been continued until April 7.Noselie Petit-Frere, 20, and Samenta Petit-Frere, 17, were both arrested and charged with disturbing a public assembly on Jan. 11.Noselie was also charged with two counts of assault and battery on a public employee, and one count of criminal trespassing. At the next court date, attorneys will have the opportunity to exchange information if any regarding the case, and the sisters will be given a choice to decide between having a jury or just a judge to rule their case if it goes to trial. The violent incident began when the two sisters were called to the high school to meet with Principal Andrew Fila and other school officials regarding Samenta’s impending suspension.Noselie was present for the meeting as she was acting as Samenta’s guardian, and began to yell racial slurs and profanities at teachers when she learned that her sister’s suspension was going to be extended due to behavioral issues. Both sisters allegedly continued the altercation with teachers as they moved into the hallway and were ultimately restrained because of violent actions.According to police, Noselie “took a dive” onto the floor, began screaming as if she were in pain, threatened to sue the school, bit the hand of a female teacher, and punched a male teacher in the groin.Police placed the two in handcuffs and lead them out of the school, as they continued to scream and yell while students gathered to watch the display. If convicted of charges, Noselie could pay up to $5,000 in fines or face up to 30 months in prison. Fila said a hearing is scheduled to address Samenta’s status at the school.
