LYNN – Two men were arrested for separate break-ins Sunday in Central Square, police said.James Carroll, 47, of 52 Friend St. #18, Lynn, was arrested after witnesses allegedly saw him breaking into a newly-renovated business on Mt. Vernon Street shortly after 5 p.m.Carroll began walking away when police arrived. The officers made him empty his pockets and found several screw drivers and other items.He was charged with breaking and entering to commit a felony and malicious destruction of property over $250.Then around 8 p.m., police got a report that a man broke into a parked car on Spring Street.Witnesses saw the man allegedly break into their friend’s car and followed the suspect as he tried to flee toward the MBTA parking garage.Police quickly responded and were seen running on the Commuter Rail platform and driving down Union Street looking for the suspect.George Comnas, 27, homeless, was found inside the garage after the victim’s friends confronted him, police said. About three people were standing around him and told him not to leave until police arrived, according to police.Comnas allegedly stole two backpacks and a cell phone from the car, which were found in his possession, police said.Comnas was arrested and charged with breaking and entering at night to commit a felony and larceny over $250.The victim came forward and positively identified the belongings as his, police said.
