SALEM – A Lynn man police say they caught with drugs while burglarizing a car earlier this year has been indicted by an Essex County grand jury.David Sloden, 31, of 26 Holyoke St., #2, Lynn, is charged with trafficking over 28 grams of cocaine, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, assault and battery and two counts of possession with the intent to distribute Class B, Class C and Class E narcotics.Charges stem from his arrest in Lynn on April 25 when police arrested him shortly after 11 a.m., after assaulting a man after burglarizing a vehicle.Police seized over 28 grams of cocaine from his person along with assorted substances.He faces a minimum mandatory punishment of five years in state prison on the drug trafficking charge.Assistant District Attorney Kristen R. Buxton is prosecuting the case for the commonwealth.Indictments are not an indication of guilt. It is a legal process in which cases are reviewed by a grand jury, allowing for a more severe punishment, if convicted.
