SALEM – A Lynn man accused of raping a woman at his home last month was returned to the Middleton Jail to await trial and remains held on $50,000 cash bail, after pleading innocent.In Salem Superior Court Wednesday morning, Cornelius Moore, 50, of 82 Alley St., #2C, entered his plea of innocence during his arraignment to aggravated rape and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.Charges stem from an incident in his home on the night of Aug. 18 when he allegedly raped a woman in her 50’s while threatening and beating her with a sword.At the joint recommendation of the prosecutor and defense, Judge Howard J. Whitehead set the same bail as previously set in district court and continued his case to Oct. 15.The defense may argue for a bail review at the next court hearing.Assistant District Attorney Greg A.
