PEABODY – A Peabody man who allegedly told police he sold “about a finger” a day of heroin in the downtown area was arraigned Monday in Peabody District Court on a slew of drug charges after police searched his home.Jesse Vienneau, 23 and Robert Braga, 24, both of 2 Munroe Court, were arrested on Saturday.Vienneau was arrested after police, who were conducting surveillance of his home, saw him leave with his father and pulled over their car on Central Street. Police had already obtained arrest warrants for the suspects after an investigation that involved drug purchases by undercover officers, police said.According to police, $800 cash, heroin, ecstasy, cocaine, marijuana, acid, mushrooms, Suboxone and other prescription drugs were discovered in Vienneau’s locked safe after he gave police consent to search it.Police say a total of five grams (half a finger) of heroin was found along with 1.7 grams of cocaine, 38 Suboxone pills, four ecstasy pills, 5.4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, a wafer of acid (LSD) and about 26 undetermined prescription pills.In addition, police allegedly found a makeshift marijuana cultivation area inside a homemade closet in Vienneau’s bedroom, police said. Officers say they also found scales, tobacco pipes and other paraphernalia commonly associated with drug use.During an interview with a detective Vienneau allegedly told police he sells heroin, cocaine and Suboxone daily but that the mushrooms, ecstasy and acid were for personal use.Vienneau described himself as a drug addict selling “about a finger” of heroin and other drugs to support his habit, according to a police report.Braga was charged with distribution of class A and B substances. Prosecutors and lawyers reached a compromise Monday and ordered him held on $2,000 bail.Vienneau was charged with distribution of a class A drug (heroin), possession of a class A drug with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a class B drug with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a class B drug and possession of a class C drug. Prosecutors and lawyers reached a compromise and ordered him held on $1,000 bail, according to court officials.Judge Joseph Jennings ordered the suspects back to court April 1 for a pre-trial hearing.
