Peabody’s Andrew Bucci and Revere’s Jay Sasso, two of the Northeastern Conference’s top snipers, are among the 46 seniors who were selected by the Mass. State Hockey Coaches Association to participate in its inaugural All-Star Game, presented by the Lowell Devils and the US Army, on March 20 at Tsongas Arena.Joining them on the team will be St. John’s Prep defenseman Pete Cahill and Austin Prep’s Cam Gaudet, who has starred this season for Saugus’ Lou Finocchiaro.Bucci and Sasso will join some of the state’s heavy hitters for a North team coached by Burlington’s Bob Conceison. This season, the duo has been among the North Shore’s leading scorers from game one.Entering play on Monday, Bucci ranked atop the scoring list with his 22 goals and 14 assists (52 goals, 56 assists career). Sasso also has had a stellar season, recording 14 goals and 26 points to lead the Patriots in points.Bucci also joined the 100-point club this season in a win over Lynn and has helped lead the Tanners to a 10-2-1 record and the top spot in the NEC North division with three weeks left in the regular season.”It’s really a nice honor for him,” Peabody coach Mark Leonard said. “He’s a great kid and a great player.”Leonard said with Bucci and Sasso, who are both excellent students as well, the Northeastern Conference is being well represented.”It’s great for our league,” he said.For Sasso, he has been a shining light for a Revere team that has had its struggles at times. His 14 goals account for nearly half the offense put up by the Patriots this season.Another North Shore player to join the group will be Newburyport’s Kyle McElroy. A member of the defending Division 2 state champions, McElroy has been outstanding all season for coach Paul Yameen’s club, posting a team-leading 24 points.Cahill has been the rock of a St. John’s defense that was instrumental in helping pick up big wins over Xaverian, Malden Catholic and BC High this season.The rest of the North forwards are James Castucci of MC; Jared Dabrieo, Woburn; Robbie Daly, Lowell; Cody Evangelous, Marlboro; Devin Joyce, Longmeadow; Ryan Mumford, Westford Academy; John Needham, Arlington Catholic; Neil Pandolfo, Burlington and Mike Seward, Winchester.The defense will be rounded out by Central Catholic’s Shawn Bradley; Dan Cushing, Wilmington; Joe Kuta, Andover; Phil Nagle, Woburn; Dan Reardon, Billerica and Justin Sencabaugh, MC.Mike Messuri of Winchester; Wilmington’s Zach Rosa and Waltham’s George Tedford will be the goalies.The South all-stars will be coached by the venerable Bill Hanson of Catholic Memorial.The forwards will be Framingham’s Tyler Byrne; Derek Colucci, CM; Justin Evangelista, Boston Latin; Joe Fernandez, Franklin; Mike Heyde, Natick; Sam Kane, Needham; Reid Kapinos, Wellesley; Pat Kerr, Falmouth; T.J.
