LYNN – Two men, one of them a reputed member of the Hells Angels, were arrested Sunday after allegedly smashing the windshield of a vehicle on Sterling Street.Eric C. Franco, 35, of 386A Walnut St., Lynn, was charged with malicious destruction of property over $250, assault with a dangerous weapon and violation of a city knife ordinance. Kevin Ryan Cook, 30, of 56 Gertrude St., Lynn, was charged with malicious damage to a motor vehicle and assault with a dangerous weapon, handgun.Both suspects were arraigned Tuesday by Lynn District Court Judge Albert Conlon. Each posted $5,000 cash bail and were ordered to stay away and not have any contact with the victim.A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for July 15.At approximately 6:30 p.m., Lynn police responded to a home on Sterling Street for a report of vandalism. Upon arrival, two victims said Cook smashed the windshield of the victim’s Cadillac with a rock, took off in a Jeep Grand Cherokee and then returned a few minutes later and pointed a handgun at the victim.The victim said he has been having ongoing problems with Cook and that he has been vandalizing his property. Franco, a known member of the Hells Angels, was said to have been in Cook’s vehicle at the time of the vandalism and that other members of the group were in the area on motorcycles.A witness told police she saw someone from the Grand Cherokee throw a rock at the windshield, but couldn’t identify the suspect. Three rocks were found near the damaged vehicle.Police tracked down Franco, who is self-employed, and Cook, a carpenter, on Lynnfield Street and placed the two under arrest. A knife found in the waistband of Franco’s pants was seized.
