SALEM – A 27-year-old Lynn man, already facing other drug charges in Superior Court, was indicted on a new drug case out of Peabody Friday afternoon by an Essex County grand jury.Jeffrey Noel, of 18 Bessom St., #2, is now charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, subsequent offense.The new indictment arises out of an incident in Peabody on March 23 when police arrested him at the Tannery Apartments on Crowninshield Street during a raid.Police said they recovered both powdered and crack cocaine along with approximately $1,500 in cash.Peabody Sgt. Scott Richards said the value of the drugs was approximately worth $2,000, according to reports.Two other men were also arrested at the apartment during the raid: Darryl Eubanks, 27, of Peabody and Vladimir Murad, 23, of Lynn, but no indictment was sought against them. Their case will remain in Peabody District Court.Noel previously was convicted of dealing cocaine out of Lynn in 2006.Because he has a prior drug conviction, he faces a minimum mandatory punishment of five years in state prison if convicted on the charge.Noel has another case pending in Salem Superior Court arising out of his arrest on Sept. 16, 2009 when he was allegedly caught peddling cocaine on Washington Street in Lynn. Police seized nine bags of crack cocaine from his person. He has pleaded innocent to the charge and was free on $500 cash bail on that case at the time of his new arrest. He is scheduled for trial in August on the case.Assistant District Attorney Michael P. Hickey is the prosecutor in both cases against Noel.
