SALEM – A Salem Superior Court jury acquitted a Lynn man of attempted murder and firearm charges from 2008 after deliberating for about two hours on Friday.Tarlee Teah, 20, of 45 Houghton St., #1, was found innocent of armed assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.Teah went on trial earlier this week for an incident which occurred in Lynn in the early morning hours of July 5, 2008 when authorities maintained he had fired shots at a 26-year-old Lynn woman outside her home on Franklin Street. The woman, now age 28, testified she had picked out the person she thought it was from a photo array later shown to her by police. She heard shots outside her home and went to a parking lot where Teah and another man were apparently arguing and tried to intercede, but then when a man pointed the gun at her she began running away in fear of her life as shots rang out. She was not injured.Teah was arrested nearby the scene and a .38 caliber handgun was retrieved from under a vehicle near the incident.Teah did not take the stand in his own defense. His attorney Peter T. Marano maintained that his client was innocent while reminding jurors in his closing summation that no one could positively identify Teah as the shooter.Teah had been free on bail, but his criminal problems are not over and he was not set free. Just before his trial was to commence on Wednesday, he had been allegedly caught with a loaded firearm and peddling one-quarter kilo of cocaine on Essex Street in Lynn. He was arraigned in Lynn District Court on the case and a $50,000 cash bail was set. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for Sept. 24. It is anticipated the district attorney’s office will move to indict him on the case.
