Upon arrival, police found the victim standing in the kitchen, holding her dog, with a serious cut on her face.Oakley was found sitting on a couch in the living room and said he didn’t want to talk to the police, saying nothing had happened. Police were later told that Oakley had an argument with his mother regarding domestic issues with his wife in Connecticut and allegedly picked up a dog crate and struck his mother in her face with it.Oakley was taken into custody at that point, while the victim was transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for an evaluation of her injuries.Through an interstate identification index, police learned that Oakley was out on a $50,000 bond for an assault and battery case that allegedly occurred in New Britain, Conn. on Aug. 13. Oakley’s brother told police that Oakley told his mother that he was thinking of fleeing the country, possibly to the Bahamas. Police say the argument between the two most likely stemmed from the fact that Oakley’s mother would have lost the $50,000 if he left the country.
