SALEM – A Lynn man police say went on a week-long crime spree was indicted Friday afternoon by an Essex County grand jury.Daniel McTigue, 34, of 3 Light St., #10, Lynn, stands charged with unarmed robbery, two counts of attempted robbery as well as receiving a stolen motor vehicle.McTigue was involved in three incidents that began on July 23.A man wearing a black T-shirt, plaid shorts, white sneakers and sunglasses walked into the Dunkin’ Donuts at 35 Lincoln Ave., Saugus.The would-be-robber was wielding what appeared to be a gun as he demanded money and fled on foot woth approximately $140 toward Winter Street.The would-be-robber was later identified as McTigue, police said. The weapon apparently turned out to be a fake gun, according to reports.A week later McTigue reportedly stole a car in Suffolk County and drove to Lynn where he attempted to rob two Lynn establishments – Super 99 Fish Market, 873 Western Ave., and the Chopstick Restaurant, 855 Western Ave. Police quickly responded and caught McTigue after he fled from the restaurant.A conviction on the unarmed robbery charge carries a potential life sentence in state prison.The indictments now move the case from Lynn District Court, where McTigue has pleaded innocent, to Salem Superior Court, where he will be re-arraigned within a few weeks.In the meantime, McTigue remains held on bail at the Middleton Jail.Assistant District Attorney Greg A. Friedholm is assigned to prosecute the case.
