LYNN – A mother son squabble involving threats with kitchen cutlery resulted in a timeout in jail for a Lynn teenager Sunday night.Denzel Xavier Santose Johnson, 17, of 71B Memorial Park Ave., Lynn, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault and battery. He was arraigned Monday at Lynn District Court by Judge Sabita Singh and was released on personal recognizance. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 16.Lynn Police spoke with Johnson’s mother, who said Johnson came to her apartment on Chestnut Street, appeared agitated and started yelling at her. He was said to have thrown items around the apartment and allegedly pushed his 50-year-old mother before he grabbed a knife and fork and said, “I’m gonna jab you.”Johnson’s 16-year-old sister was in the apartment at the time and called the police. Johnson then left the apartment, presumably to go home to his foster mother’s apartment on Memorial Park Avenue. Police searched the area for Johnson, but were unable to locate him and left the scene.A short while later, the victim called police again, saying Johnson returned to the apartment and was threatening her from a fire escape. The victim alleged that Johnson said he was going to shoot her and her daughter and was yelling at her through a window on the fire escape.Police arranged for the victim to stay at a friend’s home for the evening and had staff of a group home where her daughter resides to pick her up.Then around 10 p.m., police received a phone call from an unidentified person on Memorial Park Avenue saying Johnson had returned home. Johnson told police that he went over his mother’s house to gather some of his belongings and “gently” pushed her out of the way. He denied returning to the apartment or assaulting his mother with a fork and knife.
