SALEM – A 16-year-old Lynn teen accused of stabbing two other teens and killing one during a drug holdup was indicted Wednesday afternoon by an Essex County grand jury.Javron Walczak, of 208 Edgemere Road, faces charges of murder in the second degree, as well as armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with an incident at the Highlands on Aug. 10 where Rene Valdez, 16, of Medford was fatally stabbed and Darren Colucci, 17, received a minor stab wound.Murder in the second degree is the intentional killing done with malice.Assistant District Attorney Marsha Slingerland presented evidence before the grand jury Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the three indictments being handed up shortly after 4 p.m.According to reports, Valdez, who was visiting his grandfather and cousin in Lynn, went out with Colucci that night. Valdez contacted Walczak to buy marijuana with the intent of robbing him. He had previously bought marijuana from Walczak in the past, police reports say.But when Walczak appeared around 11 p.m. outside 121 High Rock St., something went wrong during their drug rip-off. Walczak apparently pulled out a knife, stabbing Valdez once in the neck and twice in the back before fleeing the scene, leaving Valdez bleeding profusely on the street. Colucci, of 8 Valley Road, Swampscott, also received a stab wound to his torso during the attempted holdup.Walczak was arrested later that afternoon in Lynn. He was arraigned in Lynn District Court two months ago on a premeditated first degree murder charge, but the indictment handed up is a charge of murder in the second degree, rather than first degree, which carries a punishment of life in state prison, with parole eligibility after serving 15 years.Walczak currently remains held without bail pending his re-arraignment in Salem Superior Court, but no date has yet been scheduled.Valdez, who resided at 45 Sylvia Road, in Medford, was a boxing enthusiast, who planned to enroll in an alternative high school program.
