SALEM – A Marblehead man who admitted he broke into a home on Puritan Road in Swampscott last year is headed to state prison for the next three years.Jason B. McDonald, 28, of 25 Ruby Ave., Marblehead, made his plea Wednesday afternoon in Salem Superior Court to charges of unarmed burglary, possession of burglary tools and two counts of receiving stolen property under $250.Judge Timothy Q. Feeley sentenced McDonald to the joint recommended sentence offered by Assistant District Attorney John B. Brennan and public defender Christopher Norris.Brennan stated he would have established at trial that on Sept. 23, 2009, shortly after 11 p.m. McDonald burglarized a home in Swampscott at 163 Puritan Road.The resident of the home saw the intruder inside a glass-enclosed porch after hearing a noise. He immediately called police, providing a complete description of the burglar.McDonald was arrested as he fled the scene on a bicycle.
