SALEM – A Saugus man charged with holding his wife and their young daughter inside their home with an arsenal of weapons remains held at the Middleton Jail without bail pending a dangerousness hearing in Salem Superior Court.Benjamin David Murphy, 31, of 3023 Founders Way, Saugus, appeared for his arraignment Wednesday afternoon and pleaded innocent to charges of kidnapping, assault and battery, possession of ammunition, intimidation of a witness, violation of a restraining order, illegal possession of a rifle, illegal possession of a shotgun and four counts of possession of a large capacity firearm.Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Kirshenbaum filed a petition seeking a dangerous hearing maintaining that Murphy poses a danger to the victims and the community.Judge Timothy Q. Feeley set Nov. 18 for the hearing. Kirshenbaum said she expects to call two to three witnesses, including the victim, and the hearing is expected to take at least two hours.In the meantime, Murphy remains held without bail.
