He was arraigned at Lynn District Court by Judge Albert Conlon and was ordered to post $500 cash bail, remain drug and alcohol free, not abuse the victim and submit to random drug screenings, according to court documents.A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 20.Court documents show that police were called to a report of a fight in a building on Breed Street around 2 a.m. Upon arrival, a neighbor directed officers to a second floor, where they found a 28-year-old victim standing in the hallway with Madden allegedly screaming at her. When officers tried to speak to Madden, he was said to have attempted to run through four officers, pushing them and flailing his arms while yelling that he was going to kill the victim. After continuing to fight with the officers, Madden was pepper-sprayed and eventually taken into custody.Police say the victim was visibly upset from the incident and that her hair was disheveled. She also had a small lump on the right side of her forehead, along with another on her right eyebrow. She said the assault began when Madden, her boyfriend of the past two years, called her at 1 a.m., asking if he could come over. The victim said Madden sounded as if he was under the influence of drugs and or alcohol and that he had a drug problem in the past.Madden became enraged when she asked him where he had come from and allegedly picked up her cellular phone, smashed it on the ground and then punched her in the face. Madden then grabbed her by her hair and forced her out of the apartment, saying, “If you don’t want your (expletive) kicked, then leave.”While speaking to police, the victim found a clump of her hair on her bedroom floor and said she didn’t feel safe because Madden “was going to kill her,” but then said she didn’t want to press charges against him. After being advised of her restraining order rights the victim refused medical attention at the scene while she rubbed her right pinky finger, which police say appeared to be red and swollen.
