SALEM – Three Lynn men were indicted this week on separate cases involving firearm crimes by an Essex County grand jury.Rashad Shepard, 22, of 9 McKinley Terrace, is charged with possession of a sawed-off shotgun arising out of his arrest in Lynn on July 22 for allegedly selling a 9mm sawed-off shotgun to an undercover officer for $250 on Collins Street.Hector L. Velazquez, Jr., 24, of 69 Park St. and Miguel Cabrera, 19, of 76 Park St., are each charged with carrying a firearm without a license and trying to sell an unlicensed firearm stemming from their arrest in Lynn on March 9.Indictments are not an indication of guilt, rather it is a legal process that allows a case to be transferred from Lynn District Court to Salem Superior Court allowing for a more severe punishment.
