LYNN – Two Lynn women who allegedly called a taxi to pick them up after they broke into an apartment on Nelson Street, appeared in court Monday.Elizabeth A. Woodbury, 29, of 124 Green St., #302, was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, malicious destruction of property over $250, possession of burglary tools and possession of crack cocaine and heroin; Katie Ann Dyer, 26, of 10 Spencer St., was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony and malicious destruction of property over $250.Both suspects were arraigned at Lynn District Court by Judge Michael Lauranzano. Woodbury was released on personal recognizance, while Dyer was ordered held in lieu of $1,000 cash bail. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 4.According to court documents, police responded to a report of a breaking and entering on Nelson Street, Friday around 4:30 p.m., and found a Tom?s Taxi with the engine running in the driveway. As police checked out the building, they say they heard a loud banging in the rear hallway and found the basement door damaged and a broken window.Once inside, police say they found Woodbury with a crow bar in her hands as she attempted to pry open the door of the first-floor apartment. As officers called for backup, they saw another woman, later identified as Dyer, running out of the rear hallway of the building.Dyer never gave an explanation for why she was there, but the taxi driver told police that he was called to the residence and told by Dyer to back the taxi up the driveway because she “had to get a TV.”Both suspects were arrested and booked.Police say they later found two crack pipes and a lighter in Woodbury?s cell block and as a result, ordered a strip search by a matron. When Woodbury removed her top, the matron said she found two small twists of a white powdery substance in her bra. Unsure of what the substance was, the matron was discussing whether the drug was either crack or heroin with an officer, when Woodbury allegedly shouted from her cell, “It?s both, crack and heroin.”
