SALEM – A Superior Court judge has found a Lynn man, charged with robbing his neighbor at gunpoint, a danger to the community but agreed to set bail, along with conditions for his release.Jerricee Wallace, 21, formerly of 11 West Green St., #1, is under indictment for armed robbery, home invasion, armed assault in a dwelling and carrying a firearm without a license in connection with an incident on the morning of Sept. 28 when he allegedly robbed a 25-year-old neighbor of about $100 at gunpoint in the foyer of his apartment on West Green Street. However, the suspect apparently wasn’t satisfied with the money and wanted more. He herded the victim back into his apartment to get more cash, but ended up being overpowered by occupants of the apartment and held until police arrived.Assistant District Attorney Greg A. Friedholm argued Monday afternoon that Wallace should not be released because he was too much of a danger to the community and victim. But defense lawyer Alice Jayne was able to convince Judge David A. Lowy that there are conditions to ensure the public safety and the victim. She suggested to Lowy that Wallace be released on a cash bail and live with his great aunt at her home on Bloomfield Street in Lynn.Lowy found that Wallace is a danger, but agreed to set $2,000 cash bail with the conditions that Wallace live with his great aunt, be confined to the house on an electronic monitoring bracelet, only to leave the home for court appearances and authorized medical appointments.Wallace will not be released until the monitoring device is in place inside the home, which usually takes a few days.Until then he remains held at the Middleton Jail. His next scheduled court date is Jan. 12 for a pretrial conference.
