SALEM – A Superior Court judge Wednesday slashed the bail of a man who is accused of driving drunk when he struck a Bradford woman who worked in Lynn, as she was leaving the state police barracks in Andover, killing the woman.Robert V. Bryant, 50, of 93 Lincolnshire Drive, Bradford, petitioned to Superior Court for a reduction of the $50,000 cash bail set earlier by Lawrence District Court Judge Mark Sullivan.On Wednesday afternoon following a hearing in Salem Superior Court, Judge Timothy Q. Feeley agreed to reduce the bail to $10,000 with conditions that Bryant is not to consume any alcohol, not drive and only can travel within the United States for work purposes only.Bryant was immediately bailed from the courthouse.Bryant, an executive and father of four, is accused of driving drunk when he struck Cynthia Ray on Dec. 12 as she left the state police barracks and was walking toward her Toyota Highlander.She had stopped by the State Police barracks with her mother to get an accident report for her husband, Brian, who had gotten into a minor accident on I-495.As she walked back to her car, Bryant allegedly slammed into her.Ray, 30, of Bradford, died at Massachusetts General Hospital from injuries she sustained. She worked at Lucia Lighting and Design in Lynn.
