LYNN – Police say they found heroin stuffed into a VCR and an assortment of other narcotics during a search warrant at a home on Quincy Terrace Wednesday.Two suspects, Jose Manuel Sanchez, 19, homeless and Jeffrey Quiles, 21, of 10 Quincy Terrace, #1, were arrested and both charged with possession of heroin, marijuana and Trazedone with intent to distribute. On Thursday, both suspects were arraigned at Lynn District Court by Judge Joseph Jennings.Sanchez was ordered held in lieu of $5,000 cash bail, while Quiles was released on personal recognizance. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 5.According to court documents, Lynn Police detectives carried out a search warrant around 11 a.m. at Quiles’ apartment on Quincy Terrace, where Quiles and Sanchez were found inside.While searching the residence, police say they found seven bags of marijuana tucked inside a pillow case and nine plastic twists of heroin inside a VCR player.Then, in one of the bedrooms, a digital scale was found in a box, along with a bevy of sandwich bags and 19 suspected Trazedone pills in an unlabeled prescription bottle.During the search, a woman arrived at the apartment who said she lived there and that Sanchez and Quiles had been allowed to stay with her since they had been “thrown out” of the Lynn shelter. She went on to say that the two suspects are her friends and that they help her with her three young children and have lived with her for two months. When asked if they pay to stay with her, she told police that they give her food and food stamps. Two other people at the residence were arrested for outstanding warrants.During the suspects’ bookings, police say Quiles gave a cellular phone number that allegedly matched another number in the affidavit for the search warrant that said to call “Stretch” to purchase narcotics.The Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident.
