PEABODY – Police say a brazen robber ripped off a page from the movie “The Town” when he held up a Peabody store Thursday night.Instead of hitting up a bank like characters did in Ben Affleck’s hit movie, the suspect robbed a Borders Bookstore at approximately 11:30 p.m. The suspect, described as a man wearing a mask similar to one used in the movie, approached four employees of the store as they were closing it up for the night.The suspect is said to have shown a gun and ordered the employees back inside, where he stole a bag of money and ran away.Friday morning, investigators found a burnt SUV in an industrial park on Swampscott Road in Salem.Police say the SUV matches the description given by Borders employees and is thought to be linked to the crime. It is also thought to have been stolen from a local dealership.No injuries were reported during the incident.Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact the Peabody Police at 978-531-1212.
