A mere 10 seconds into the start of the New Year, Lynn?s newest resident, Jeremiah Joel Navill entered the world at Beverly Hospital, earning him the distinction of being the first baby born in the Bay State in 2011.?I didn?t imagine he would be born on New Year?s Day, but it?s such a great date and we?re really happy,” said Navill?s mother, Yolinnet Colon, 23. “My whole family is thrilled.”The healthy little boy was born after nearly eight hours of labor and checked in at seven pounds, four ounces and is 20 inches long. His older sisters, Delilan, 6, and Yolivette, 2, were on hand with their father, Damien Navill, to greet the newest member of their family.?I thought he was going to be born on the 31st, but nope, my sister-in-law, my husband and my mom were right, he was born on New Year?s Day,” Colon said.The Fayette Street resident said her little bundle of joy was originally due to be born on Jan. 7, but figured he would make his arrival a few days earlier, just like his sisters did.Dr. Louis Laz delivered Navill, as he had the happy couple?s two daughters. The birth is said to have been the first in his career to happen on New Year?s Day.Since Saturday, Colon said she has received countless visits from her extended family, as well as well-wishes through emails and video chats from relatives in Puerto Rico hoping to catch a glimpse of Jeremiah.Colon said she chose her son?s name after it came to her in a dream and from reading the Bible.?I?m so excited to have a son, but he?s going to be the last one,” she quipped.Another Lynn baby was born at 11:12 a.m. Saturday at North Shore Medical Center in Salem to proud parents, Vanessa DelaRosa and Otis Javier Soto. Emmanuel Soto DelaRosa weighed in at five pounds, 11 ounces and 19.5 inches long.
