LYNN – Police continue to search for suspects involved in the city?s first shooting of the year on Saturday morning that left a Dana Street woman hospitalized with a gun shot wound to the chest.Cheryl Marino, 55, was struck by an errant bullet that pierced a window of her home around 7 a.m. as she was getting ready for work, police say.Neighbors say they heard two groups of people arguing outside Marino?s home when someone fired a gun, sending a bullet barreling through a front window of her home. Two cars are said to have fled the scene immediately after. Police say Marino, who is listed in stable condition at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, was not the intended target.A few hours after a bloodied Marino was carried out of her home, police arrested Victor Arias, 32, of 15 Dana St., for disorderly conduct and threats after he allegedly accosted news crews at the scene.As of Sunday night, no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting, which police say remains under active investigation.In an unrelated act of violence, police say an unidentified 18-year-old Lynner was stabbed in the chest during a fight inside a home on Parkland Avenue around 4 a.m. Saturday. The victim was listed in serious condition at a local hospital on Saturday, but police did not reveal his condition on Sunday.Shortly after the argument, Lynn resident Givanni Jenkins, 19, of 37 Jefferson St., was arrested and charged with armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, knife.
