LYNN – Police made a bust of nearly 94 grams of heroin Saturday, following a noise complaint about a group blasting Michael Jackson tunes on South Common Street.Nelson Joel Irizary-Alvarado, 33, of 3118 Washington St., #7, Jamaica Plain, was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, subsequent offense, possession of ammunition without a license, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, subsequent offense, trafficking heroin over 28 grams, school zone violation, manufacturing heroin; Henry Ocasio, 24, of 92 South Common St., #3, Lynn, was charged with trafficking heroin over 28 grams, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a license, school zone violation, manufacturing heroin and disguise to obstruct justice.Both suspects were arraigned Tuesday at Lynn District Court by Judge Albert Conlon. Alvarado was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail, while Ocasio was held on $3,000 cash bail. Both are due back in court Feb. 10 for a probable cause hearing.According to court documents, Lynn police responded to a report of a noise complaint on South Common Street around 12:30 a.m. Saturday and upon arrival, say they smelled a strong odor of marijuana and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” being played at a loud volume.When officers knocked on the apartment door in question, they say they heard a person inside remark that the police were outside and, after a few minutes, the door was opened. Alvarado and Ocasio were found in another room, both allegedly nervous, with their hands shaking. Police checked out the room and found a pot, blender and a sifter in a closet, which all contained a white residue powder in them.Underneath a bed, a large plastic bag was found with a tan powdery substance inside, along with another bag of the same substance in the bed’s box spring and a firearm. A small bag of marijuana was also found.Police later determined that the bags of heroin weighed in at a total of 93.8 grams. Ocasio was found to have $425 on him, which police say was seized as profits from drug sales.
